| Personally I like to use analogies on things that people can relate to. I get into a habit of using them occasionally. This particular one I found was very enlighning. I am going to share this with you. Bear with me... When I stutter more its usally because I get nervous, or excited and sometimes worried on what I am going to say. This is my analogy in this particular case. When you are a child and you fall down playing in the playground there are two reactions as a parent you can give to your child. Either goto your child in a hurry manner and get all worked up about what just happened or you can let her get up by herself and brush the dirt off. What I am getting at here is simple. Most people when they stutter get all "worked up" over the situation. Just like the first example. If you let yourself figure things out and how not to stutter and go through the steps you will gradually feel more confident in your speech and hopefully acceptance is not so far behind.
